iPad 3 not in 2011 for 3 reasons
1. iPad 2 still do not reach other countries.
2. Software update will make iPad 2 new during half cycle.
3. Jobs said "2011 is the year of iPad 2".

wow, most importantly on slide 3 they say that they launched the 965 chipset. that means they can switch to the 965 integrated GPU across the board for consumer macs. that would certainly help the heat issues, make the macs cheaper and less complicated to design for apple. standard parts and boards allow for even faster updates. good news.
mmm... GMA965. :D That should be a very nice improvement over the 950!

"Clearly, Apple has invented some hyperspace technology that lets you fit a DVD into an iPod"
No, no...the DVD is there because the new vPod is also the remote for the new vExpress...now how cool is that!

Will this work on the 2011 mbp's?
The seed note says:
- Videos purchased from the iTunes Store will not play on Early 2011 MacBook Pro models.
To me, that means it can at least be installed on the new MacBook Pros.

Thanks for the links.
I dont see why a 20% increase in speed is going to rock the boat. Especially if its in the MBP. So if it is ready for shipment I dont see any advantage in waiting for the MBP line to upgrade.
I guess Ill have to do some research about the battery performance.
Noone knows what Steve Jobs will do, but I think he had been roper-doping long enough with the G3 and G4. What 6 years with the same G4? He needs to come out swinging while Apple still has a strong brand name from the iPod.
I hope to see some changes. The last 5 years have been so slow that it hasnt been worth keeping up with.

Finally, they'll be charging what the service is worth!
No kidding. I wouldn't mind paying the fee every year if they'd just make MobileMe web-mail work worth a damn. SO slow...freezes up constantly. It's pretty much an every day thing, I have to refresh my browser or just close it completely and log back in, because a page I click on simply won't load.

Apple has to try to protect their IP or they risk losing it. What I wonder is why it took them so long to start lawsuits over this.

America is getting bent over and the dummies in the Tea Party are championing for their own destruction. Here is a link to the story about the Real Housewives of Wall Street.
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-real-housewives-of-wall-street-look-whos-cashing-in-on-the-bailout-20110411
I strongly recommend people do whatever they can to watch the Documentary Inside Job.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1645089/
It's red face enraging to see how much money was pocketed by rich *******s in this country while working americans were losing their homes.
Read that a bit earlier. Taibbi is just about the only journalist reporting on this. How sad.

Oh do shut up. America doesn't have the technology. Furthermore, I am sure prices of your beloved Apple products would increase almost tenfold if Apple didn't have to pay Chinese peasants to make your shiny toys.
I guarantee America has all the technology required to make components for a phone battery.
And yes, I'd pay more for EVERYTHING I buy if I knew that an American was making it here in America. That means more people working fair-wage jobs, paying taxes, and contributing to the economy by spending THEIR money in the economy as well.

So Steve is saying there is no database of locations? Thats just an outright lie.
No, he's saying Apple does not track your location. There has been no evidence that any of the location information leaves your phone/computer. Whether that file should exist or not is another debate.

If this is true, I'm getting an HTC Android phone.
I still have the iPhone 3GS (2 year contract), so I want to upgrade THIS year, preferably this summer.
Don't let me down Apple!

The single most thing that I'm excited for is the Leopard Preview... Nevermind that it's the only thing *confirmed*. ;) After that, anything else is just icing on the cake!:D

$2,499 standard price of Mac Pro ($2,299 for Education)
$2,124 is the lowest you can configure the Mac Pro ($1,962 for Education)
To get it that low, you have to drop the processors from 2.66GHz to 2GHz and and the hard drive from 250GB to 160GB
Airport Extreme & Bluetooth 2.0 still not standard
Weak graphics card standard (GeForce 7300, ugh)
and as a sidenote:
MacBook Pro & MacBook processors untouched
 iMac untouched
iPod product line grows more stale by the day
It was WWDC not MacWorld you know?

Exactly.
To avoid the 'implied' multiplication, it should be shown as below.
The answer is then obviously "2".
2 to the power of (9+3) is not the same as 2 x (9+3).

I think that's kind of his point isn't it. I know I'd like to see more "media center" type features in my Mac.

Well it's not unprecedented. The iPad 2 shipped with iOS 4.3, which added support for the device and its new features, but not much else.
And the original iPad came with 3.2.
Seems to be that the iPad gets the older OS but newer processors.

This promo isn't to clear out Mac inventory, if anything it is to clear out iPod stock. If they hold back the Merom MBP just so I can't the free iPod I would be pissed and they would hear about it.
You don't think a person is more likely to buy a Mac if they get a free iPod? The promo clears out Mac inventory, although I do agree it's primary purpose is to clear out iPod stock, more than once has Apple done an iPod update after the yearly iPod pomo ends.
The point is they would update a product right in the middle of a promotion its involved in.

I remember the head of Atari saying something similar about Sony's Playstation.
Yeah, they might even be right, but this definitely sounded inordinately defensive. If Palm's position were really secure, their attitude should be along the lines of "Let Apple do whatever it wants. We'll just keep making the best phones." But.... it wasn't.

I use Eset NOD32 on my pc and i must say it's the best AV software in my opinion after testing many others. Once they make their AV available on mac i will get it. Or if a AV get's its way to the new mac appstore. This way i know i can simply remove it by deleting it (i hope). I just hate installers that spread stuff on my mac. It's so ...windows :)

The way the Android OS is structured, and with the number of manufacturers making Android based smartphones, it would only be a matter time before the total number outgrew what one manufacturer of one phone could make.
Smart! And exactly my point

How wrong you are.
This software actually protects for more than just viruses, it also removes trojans which HAVE been written for Mac. It also removes Windows viruses that you as a user can still pass on to other people. It removed 3 trojans from my machine, yes they were Windows trojans, BUT I will now not pass them on in emails, etc.
Be ignorant if you like, but one day soon we will all be caught out.
It found 7 trojans (6 for Windows and 1 for OS X) on my Mac.
Btw, how does one know if their computer is virus/malware/adware free if they never scan for it?
