does the employment letter have to be exactly in the same format as described in 'filing your 485 on your own thread' or can it be a simple letter stating the job title, salary, responsibilities etc?........is it ok to file 485 on my own eventhough the rest of the process was handled by attorney?.......for any immigration matters my company just forwards me to their lawyer.......and there is chance the lawyer might get pissed off if I file 485 on my own.......any ideas?

A few months ago, BEC would respond to emails from the beneficiary regarding case status if the beneficiary mailed from the company email Id. They would send a screenshot of your case details. You will have to include your name, company name, state applied from, and DOB. I did that several months ago and got a reply from DBEC. I sent them an email with my details requesting them to send my case details so I could file for my 7th year H1 extension and got back a reply with screenshot after 2 or 3 days. You can give that a shot but no guarantees that BEC will respond as I heard they stopped doing that now. You can get the email Ids for 7th yr H1 ext email queries from the DOLs site. Good Luck.

L1 visa is granted to people who have worked in the home country for the sponsoring company before coming to US. So, if you have worked in XYZ bangalore, you can get an L1 from XYZ to come to US. However, you are obviously working in the US for your present employer, so how could you have worked for the other company in the home country (Example - India)??

Hi All,
I received I485 receipts from my lawyer, they are missing my priority date which is in sept 2002. Not sure why they are missing..
Did any one come across the same situation....

If the approval notice contains I94 no need to leave the country otherwise you need to get the H1B Stamped.

Take an Inpass Appointment and Meet local USCIS officer and ask for help... Letter or Duplicate EAD. If you have a Job Offer letter they Might expedite the EAD Request..

As a service to our readers we publish local ceremony dates. If USCIS approves your application for naturalization, you must attend a ceremony and take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States. USCIS will notify you by mail of the time and date of your ceremony.
The notice USCIS sends you is called the "Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony" (Form N-445). In some cases, USCIS may give you the option to take the Oath on the same day as your interview. If you decide to take a "same day" oath, USCIS will ask you to come back to the office later that day. At this time, you will take the Oath and receive your Certificate of Naturalization.
If you cannot go to the oath ceremony, you should return the "Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony" (Form N-445) that USCIS sent to you. You should send the N-445 back to your local office. Include a letter saying why you cannot go to the ceremony. Make a copy of the notice and your letter before you send them to USCIS. Hi
While parents apply for a tourist visa, in DS-156 where it says "who will pay for the trip", if they mention "self" do we still have to send an Affidavit of Support.
Secondly, do they have to show sufficient cash in their bank account for the trip or will investment proof be ok.
Thirdly, our extended visa is expiring 28thApr'07 & we've applied for renewal in feb'07. We have n't received the receipt yet. Will our current visa copy be sufficient ?

Please update your case if you have applied on July 2nd at NSC and your case got transferred to TSC later..
I am in the same situation and last week I got my receipt numbers from TSC. No updates has been seen on my receipt numbers..
