you could always do what I did and buy a cheap off-contract phone that requires the data plan, then wait it out to see what the iPhone 5 adds to the table.
I bought a Palm Pixi Plus for $60 off of Newegg, it got me the unlimited data plan, plus they threw in a complimentary 5GB tethering option as well since that was also included with the Pixi Plus, due to the mobile hotspot feature, when they actually still carried the phone. They couldn't answer for sure when I asked if the tethering would transfer if I upgraded down the line, but they assured me the unlimited data would. Also, by getting the off contract phone it left my previous upgrades (I've still got 2 accrued since I haven't used an upgrade in 4 years) intact for use on the iPhone 5, or other phone if I so choose.
I was about to do that, but then I read somewhere that Verizon won't grandfather when you upgrade after they switch the plans

The official TRIM support is already in Snow Leopard builds for the new Macbook Pros with SSDs and it's in Lion as well. The official support is only for the Apple's SSDs, no TRIM support for third party SSDs. There is a way to enable it for any SSD that supports TRIM, but it is a hack. Here's the thread: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1125400
Apple are usually conservative about their SSDs, they don't go for the top of the line SSDs. So, it is normal to see conservative speed from Apple's SSDs.

a time capsule server would be nice. dual drives with RAID1 (back up/mirror the 1 drive), raid-0 one big drive, or split -- each drive is independent so you can back up one set of machines to one and store files on the other.
they need proper ventilation in them for sure, with the powersupply and the wireless cards causing heat on top of the hard drive being a huge heat component its a wonder they havent redesigned it to some degree yet.

NYC man! ..........thats new york city for those who need help figuring it out. :D
Then you might get to see it by the end of the day. It varies. For us in the UK, we'll most likely have to wait till Wednesday.

Custom 10.6.5 made specifically for that model line. As far as I know, there are only 10.6.0 and 10.6.3 retail Snow Leopard disks.
BLAAAAA!!!
So I cant do it with a DVD at all? WTH? Seems very inconvenient to need the special USB install media.

You used the "Copy Image Address" option via the right click menu or did you copy the image address via the address bar?

Have you tried it on someone else's computer other than yours, to make sure it's a FF/IE/Safari code issue and not an issue with the settings of FF and IE or of QT on your computer? For instance link it and let us try?
Also, if you force-specify the MIME type by adding:
type="audio/x-mp3"
to the <embed> tag, what happens?

I just picked up my iBook a few weeks ago (seven days before they drop the price... bastards...) and I too am in a simular situation as you are. I am tech support at a small pc shop and after putting up with months and months of people calling me retarded I got my iBook anyway. I thought about the Powerbook but beat on my laptops too hard to get something with the aluminum...
But seriously, this platform rocks. I can use OS X with the best of them and before owning my book I had barely used them at all. So yeah... if i keep going its just gonna be pointless babble about how much the switch is a good thing and yeah. So im gonna draw the line here and stop! :P

the ram cover won't come off lol
since i really don't want to do it myself, i'm taking it to macenthusiasts to get it off since that's what the apple store genius dude told me to do.
i have a 512mb stick somewhere...i should really go...maybe i'll go right now.

See this thread if you consider the 6870:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1127583
However it, seems like there are some glitches vs. a 5870 with no real big performance gain.
I have a 5870 in my 2010 Mac Pro and every game runs perfectly with max settings at about 60-100 fps on my 27" Dell at 2560x1440.

I live in Orange County CA, and I will say there are probably 8 or 9 AT&T stores compared to the 1 Apple Store. I just did a "find a store" zip code search on the AT&T site and there were 18 stores within a 5 mile radius, 31 + stores within a 10 mile radius though not all the stores are "factory" stores (Affordable Portables, etc.). There will be more stores, but I can't imagine each store will have more than 200 phones each. With Apple Stores getting more (hopefully) and Best Buy, Radio Shack, things look good for next week.
Yes, I think there will be lines.

Most applications will have a log which will record errors and other information. It would be worth clearing out to see if you can gain some space :)
Where is the log located and how big can the logs get over time for a computer 5 years old.

Mine is Bliks3m, just Bliksem with a 3 to be "1337" It's basically a slang word in afrikaans
bliksem - strike, hit, punch, also used as an expression of surprise/emphasis (rude, considered by many to be profanity) Derives from the ancient Germanic god Blitzen "lightning" and is used together with "donner". Is used as a curse in Afrikaans "Jou bliksem!"
Just getting some creativity working...

If you have a couple of cases, why is this phone so scratched up in 2 weeks time? It looks like you put it in your pocket with keys and $3.00 in change?

It's a phone so small, that it can't even be used. But it's made by Apple, so I couldn't resist buying it!Is the price suitably small too? ;)

I asked a friend with that issue and he says he still has it. :(

So that's why you started the "G6" thread and have posted the same gripe about "what the hell is Motorola doing" in several threads?

I you look at the first article on the page, you will see that in a reference to an interview with Apple France director J.R. Cazeneuve, he is quoted as saying Apple worked very well with Motorola on the G5.
Bet ya a million buck we get G5's early next year.
(no, I don't have a million bucks, but hey ho)
