Safe to say at this point we will have to wait. Man, I had that upgrade waiting. But then again, what's another three months to wait from the usual release date?

1) This is a new low for Samsung. Apple had a specific complaint about a specific device. Now Samsung replies with this patent nonsense? Really it makes Samsung look desperate and weak.
2) I bet one day in the near future Samsung will regret this move. Apple will source other fabs for their business. Micron, AMD's spun-off foundry, heck even Intel would probably work something out just for Intel. These American companies wouldn't steal Apple's IP.

I don't care what anyone says, even "Microsoft". Until an amendment is apply to the licensee agreement, I'm going to use it the way it is stated. I'm not going to install the software in a virtual machine on the licensed device.
My guess is the licensee, either is correct as written, or they will release a new agreement when the actual product ships. If MS intends for thier software not to be installed in a VM, they will clarify in the license agreement.

I've currently got a single 1GB stick in a three year old PB - will that be OK to swap into a new MBP?

NO, even if it was the last powerbook G4 with DDR2 ram it still isn't compatible, different speed and spd DDR2 dont seem to mix very well. Best to buy a new stick from a reputable store (and remember Apple overcharges for RAM)

This. I can see manufacturers adopting Airplay or eventually adopting something more sophisticated like actual software from apple to mimic that of the Apple TV

I've been an AAPL shareholder on and off since 1982. The company has NEVER been healthier or hotter than it is now. We all know about the record sales of Macs, iPods, iPhones, etc. I was at a major shopping center on weekday afternoon a few days ago, and the Apple Store was literally the only store in the mall that could have been classified as "busy" (and not just with lookers but with buyers).
Yes, with things so good at the moment one has to wonder where the room for improvement is? Markets are forward looking and it would seem the markets don't see much room for improvement right now.

Apple's 256kbps VBR files didn't do me any good with my last car stereo by JVC. The JVC would play AAC, but not VBR AAC. So I could either convert Apple's AAC VBR to regular AAC (extra conversions are bad for sound quality) OR just buy something that plays out of the box (i.e. Amazon 256 VBR MP3). I chose the latter. I'm not sure about my new stereo that came with my WRX (it plays AAC, but I haven't tested a VBR one), but it doesn't matter much sincee that head unit won't be around much longer. Now that Amazon is cheaper to boot, it's not even a question, really. I prefer buying CDs and transferring it myself, though if I want a whole album.

i wonder how you click, or make a selection. it would be pointless if you could scroll wothout touching the screen, but had to touch it in order to click on the scroll wheel.
Yeah, that is a good question. It would seem to be a very touchy thing to differentiate scrolling from clicking the buttons. Maybe they'll move back to the 3G interface with the separate buttons. It seems that it might feel a bit awkward to me to not receive any tactile feed back.
I'm excited to see what Apple comes up with.

Thanks for calling me a liar. My date moved, without explanation, as quoted in the story. The only thing I can personally think of is dropping a third line from the family plan. Other than that, and thanks to autopay, my bill for the remaining two iPhones on the plan is rather expensive, and always paid in full and on time, so the other argument is invalid as well.

My apps all seem to be showing it (search Anthony Wardley on iTunes to see). They are finance and Australian Tax apps, some universal, some iPhone only so there doesn't seem to be a pattern (maybe all iOS 3.0 +???).

I love how so many fanboys love it when Apple makes money from expensive products. When your company rips you off you don't turn around and say good job keep it up. Why do you get mad a gas companies for charging you to much but not Apple.

802.11n isn't due for ratification until 2008. There is a "Draft N v 2.0" due out next year that is supposedly close to what 802.11n will be but there's no guarantee anything will work until the final spec is released in 2008.
As long as it works with the 802.11[whatever] that the iTV ships with, it'll work for me. :)
